Ask the Judges

In an upcoming segment on I LOVE WINNING, I will be interviewing competition judges for their advice on how to win more often and bigger prizes and costly mistakes to avoid.

I'm looking for your assistance. Think back to those great Competitions That Got Away, where you couldn't understand how you didn't win. Sure, there were other contestants, but your entry was brilliant. Or was it? What did the judge really think? Here's your chance to find out!

What would you like to ask the judges?

  2. Hi Fay,

Thanks for adding I LOVE WINNING! Blogging Women is such a useful directory. I love going there to discover new blogs.

Hopefully I'll get time to enter the contest soon -- it's kinda up my alley, that sort of thing. ; )

  5. I think I'd ask the judge why they rarely publish the entry. Is it because the winner was drawn and wasn't as good as they wanted but they were overwhelmed by entries? (I hark back to a recent comp with reportedly 14,000 entrants) I wouldn't want to be judging that many. Do they have a way of quickly whittling down the entries?

  7. Sandy's comment is a good point. I'd like to know do they really read them all when they get 1000s of entries, or do they take a small seletion (eg 100 or so) and judge entries from that?

  8. Hmmm, I'd like to know that one myself -- whether they only take a handful of entries and judge from those.

The question about why they don't publish the winning ditty is a good one as well. They probably get disgruntled losers whinging that their entry was better. Let's find out!
